Metronome

The Metronome: Showing event quantization and beat timer.
Also note, the pendulum of the clock is in sync with the metronome as well.

While working on Seance: The Unquiet, our audio engineer Keith Sjoquist had an interesting feature he had been wanting to work on for a long time. He wanted a tool to dynamically quantize events to line up to the bpm to whatever music was playing. Since audio is so crucially important to VR immersion, I jumped at the chance to help him make this a reality.
What does it do? The Metronome ties into our linear storyteller system and FMOD to hold and activate events on a beat, allowing Keith the ability to make audio that matches dynamic elements in the scene. For example we can start a character's monologue on a beat and at the same time play music that corresponds to what they are saying, building up to a crescendo and flashing lighting at the exact time when the audio supports it best.
